List Building for Coaches: Attracting Subscribers Part 1 - Invit

I have been talking to a lot of coaches and consultants lately who are very interested in building a list of email subscribers. It's easy to see why you should build a list of people who know you, like you, trust you, and eagerly open your emails. It's not always so easy to see how to do it. In this series of articles we are going to look at some easy methods to attract subscribers to your list, just by working smarter with the online methods you are probably already using.

In this article we are going to look at how to make sure visitors don't leave your website before they have had the chance to subscribe to your list.

If you already have a website up and running, I suggest that you make these changes to it right away.

#1 Add an opt-in box to your home page offering your visitors the opportunity to receive a valuable giveaway. Whether you offer an ebook, email course, audio or video or whatever other format, make sure that your 'free gift' is of value to your ideal client. This is your first chance to demonstrate the level of expertise, credibility and knowledge you have to offer. It is important that you give your subscribers something of real value.

#2 Add an opt-in box to every page of your website and make sure that you include a clear call to action, such as, 'Sign up to receive XYZ'. You should make it clear that by opting in to receive your offer, the visitor will also be entitled to receive further communications from you.

#3 Add a page to your website that exclusively describes the benefits of your giveaway product. Again include an opt in box for visitors to sign up.

#4 Add a squeeze page that focuses on describing the benefits of your offer. Make sure that you link to this page in all your marketing efforts. Whenever you are promoting your giveaway elsewhere online, send people to this squeeze page so that they can join your list.
